PARTNERSHIP WITH FURTHER AND HIGHER EDUCATION AND INDUSTRY
Viewforth High School has effective partnerships with our local Fife College (formerly Adam Smith and Carnegie Colleges) and other colleges.
Our pupils experience a number of opportunities for joint working with colleges and Viewforth High School staff work hard to ensure that effective partnership agreements are in place. These include Viewforth pupils attending college as part of their curriculum, pupils attending college “taster” courses and opportunities for college based staff to contribute to the school curriculum.
Our pupils benefit from a number of partnership programmes with Dundee University, St Andrews University and others. These partnerships allow pupils to access their facilities and staff expertise to enrich pupils’ learning experiences. Pupils also have the opportunity to experience university life and work with undergraduate students.
The school has a number of links with local businesses. These links are greatly valued and allow pupils to experience the world of work.
Viewforth High School has strong links with local employers and we have a number of pupils who undertake work placements to help develop their skills and knowledge, gain experience in an area of work and help them to make decisions about their future career path. During these placements, pupils are encouraged to develop self-awareness, practise core skills through work-based projects, become aware of employment and training opportunities available and appreciate the different conditions and disciplines of the workplace.
