Criminology S3
2021 saw the Modern Studies department launch a new S3 course in Criminology. Pupils taking the course will develop their understanding of crime and the criminal justice system, as well as learning to think like a criminal investigator.
Pupils will work collaboratively to develop theories to account for various complex criminal cases, and will learn more about how to analyse crime scenes. White suits and blue gloves at the ready for CSI Kirkcaldy!
This course will help pupil’s who have an interest in criminal investigations but also learn about the theories of crime. This serves as a good introduction to Modern Studies at National level where pupils study crime as part of their Social issues unit.
There are good cross curricular links with science and pupils who are keen on this topic could go onto study courses like criminology at college and university.
