York Trip 2019 – Current S2-S3 Pupils

There is a proposed trip to York (England) for September 2019.   This trip will focus on the Technology and History aspects of the city of York.  We will travel down to York by Train, staying two nights in York.


Excursions will include National Railway Museum, York Castle Museum, the City’s Roman walls, York Minster tour, hop on, hop off sightseeing bus tour, Yorvik Viking Centre, evening ghost tour and York Dungeons attraction.


Pupils interested in specifically Technology, Rail, Roman and Viking history of York should see Mr Watson to collect an initial information letter to take home to parents/guardians.   This is initially aimed at the current S2/3 pupils. Spaces will be strictly limited to 25 places.


The estimated price for this trip including all travel, accommodation and excursions is £255 per person.  Pupils who have a history of poor behaviour will not be selected.


Netball Club

To all girls in S4-6, the senior netball club is commencing on Monday 17th September. This will be every Monday after school and will finish around 4pm. A few of the girls in S6 are helping run this in hope to go to the tournament at the end of the year if that’s what’s wanted. Please bring your PE kit with you.


Languages Club

Are you interested in learning about languages and cultures around the world? Watching films in Japanese? Learning songs in Mandarin? Playing games to learn a bit of Polish? The Languages Club is looking for new members! You do not need to have taken a language at school to participate – all year groups are welcome. Please add your name to the sign-up sheet in S1.05. We will meet Wednesdays after school beginning September 26th. – please see Mrs. Zia in S1.05 to find out more details.





S1/2/3 Pupils

Due to a lack of interest and slips not being handed back, the trip to Real Madrid has been cancelled. Mr Learmonth thanks everyone who handed their slip in for their time and apologies for having to cancel the trip. Please inform your parents that the information evening on Tuesday 25th September will no longer be going ahead.


Dance Club

Dance Club will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday after school (3:20pm-4:20pm) until the October Holidays in the small gym. We are working towards our performance at the Dance Showcase at the end of term so please make sure you come with your full PE kit. If you have any questions or can’t make one of the evenings, please see Miss Donald in Drama.


Drama Club S1-S3

Drama club is on a Monday after school from 3:15pm – 4:30pm in the Drama Studio. If you want to have fun, play games and develop your Drama skills then come along. You don’t have to take Drama to get involved! If you have any questions then please come and ask Miss Fenton or Miss Donald in Drama.



Choir is open to pupils in all year groups who enjoy singing.  We will be singing some songs from the Mamma Mia films as well as current songs from the charts.  Rehearsals are today (Wednesday) 3.15-4pm in A2.01.


European Day of Languages 2018

The Modern Languages Department invites Viewforth staff and pupils to celebrate the European Day of Languages on Wednesday, September 26th. Between Wednesday and Thursday, there will be a treasure hunt taking place across the school (outside class-time!). All pupils wishing to participate should collect a slip from the Modern Languages department on Wednesday morning and return completed slips before end of day Thursday. Winners will be announced Friday, September 28th. EDOL is a day where all the different languages that make up Europe are celebrated – we greatly appreciate your participation!
